2The services we provide
We are a finance broker. We help you find and apply for finance from a panel of credit providers, including:
- car, motorcycle, caravan, boat and other vehicle finance;
- equipment and asset finance, including novated and other leases; and
- through 360 SaaSFin, finance for software subscriptions and other technology for businesses.
This Credit Guide applies when we provide credit assistance for a credit contract or consumer lease regulated by the NCCP Act, which generally means finance for personal, domestic or household purposes. Finance used wholly or mainly for business purposes is generally not regulated by the NCCP Act, but we handle every application with the same care and the same complaints process.
3The credit providers we use
We do not act for any one credit provider. The credit providers we most commonly use are:
- Flexi Commercial
- Dynamoney
- Angle Finance
- Firstmac
- Affordable Car Loans
- Veya Money
We also use others. A full list of the credit providers we deal with is set out in the privacy consent you sign with your application, and we can give it to you on request.
4Our responsible lending obligations
Under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (NCCP Act), before we help you obtain credit, or an increase to your credit limit, we must make sure it is not unsuitable for you. To do this, the law requires us to:
- make reasonable inquiries about your requirements and objectives;
- make reasonable inquiries about your financial situation; and
- take reasonable steps to verify your financial situation.
A credit contract or consumer lease will be unsuitable if, at the time of our assessment, it is likely that you could not meet your repayments, or could only meet them with substantial hardship, or that it will not meet your requirements and objectives. If you could only meet your repayments by selling your home, the law presumes this would cause substantial hardship unless the contrary is shown.
This is why we ask you for detailed information and supporting documents. It is very important that the information you give us is complete and accurate.
Getting a copy of our assessment
If you enter into a credit contract or consumer lease with our assistance, or your credit limit is increased, you can ask us for a copy of our preliminary assessment of whether it is not unsuitable for you. You can ask at any time within 7 years. We will give it to you free of charge within 7 business days if you ask within 2 years, or within 21 business days if you ask after that.
The documents we give you
Before we provide credit assistance, we will give you a credit quote if we will charge you a fee for our services, and a credit proposal disclosure document setting out the fees you will pay and the commissions we expect to receive. You can ask us how any of these amounts are worked out.
5Fees payable by you
Fees payable to us
We may charge you a fee for our credit assistance. If we do, we will tell you the amount, or how it is worked out, in our credit quote before we provide credit assistance, and you must agree to it before we go ahead.
Fees payable to third parties
When you apply for finance you may need to pay fees to third parties, such as the credit provider’s establishment, application or valuation fees, or government charges. These will be set out in our credit proposal disclosure document and in the credit provider’s documents before you are bound by them.
We do not charge you for this Credit Guide or for a copy of our assessment.
6Commissions and other benefits we receive
Credit providers pay us commission when your finance settles. The amount usually depends on the amount financed and the product you choose, and in some cases on the rate or term. Commissions are not payable by you. We will set out the commissions we expect to receive in our credit proposal disclosure document, and on request we will give you an estimate and tell you how they are worked out.
Volume-based and other benefits
Some credit providers pay us additional commission, or provide indirect benefits such as training, professional development or event sponsorship, depending on the volume of finance we arrange with them. These amounts are not payable by you, and we only recommend finance that is not unsuitable for you. On request, we will tell you which credit providers have these arrangements with us and how they are worked out.
7Commissions we pay to others
If someone refers you to us, we may pay them a commission or fee for the introduction, for example a car, boat or equipment dealer, a real estate agent, an accountant or a business adviser. These payments are not payable by you. On request, we will give you an estimate of any such payment and how it is worked out.
8If you are in financial difficulty
Your circumstances can change. If you are having trouble meeting your repayments, or expect to, contact your credit provider as early as possible, as it may be able to agree a hardship arrangement. We can help you get in touch. You can also speak with a free financial counsellor through the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007.
9If you have a complaint
We aim to build strong and lasting relationships with our customers, and we welcome your feedback. If you are not happy with our products or service, please tell us so we can put it right. Making a complaint is free.
