Scams and security

Protect yourself from scams

Scammers pretend to be lenders, brokers and banks. Here's how we'll contact you, what we'll never ask for, and what to do if something doesn't feel right.

Think you've been scammed?
Call us straight away on 1800 519 609 or +61 3 7003 8909, and call your bank if money has left your account. Acting quickly gives the best chance of stopping a payment.

Our promise

We will never

Ask for your password or one-time code

Not by phone, email, text or chat, including in Astra, our assistant.

Change repayment details by email or text

If you're sent new bank details for your loan, don't pay. Call us on a number from this website first.

Ask you to pay a fee to release a loan

Don't pay anyone who asks for an upfront payment to approve or release a loan in our name.

Spot the signs

How to spot a scam

Common scams

  • Payment redirection: an email that looks like it's from us, your broker or your solicitor, with "updated" bank details.
  • Fake loan offers: guaranteed approval or very low rates, often with an upfront fee.
  • Impersonation: calls or messages claiming to be from 360 MMS, a bank or a government agency, asking you to act urgently.
  • Fake websites and links: look-alike sites that ask you to log in or enter card details.

Warning signs

  • Pressure to act now, or to keep it secret.
  • A request for passwords, codes or remote access to your computer or phone.
  • Bank details that have changed, or that are in a different name.
  • Links in messages you weren't expecting.
