For brokers: working with a mortgage manager (accreditation, off-panel referrals, scenario support)

Working with a mortgage manager gives brokers access to loans funded by wholesale institutional funders, often for clients who don't fit a bank's standard policy, plus direct access to the credit team that assesses the deal. 360 MMS accredits mortgage brokers, accepts off-panel introducer referrals from brokers who aren't accredited yet (under an introducer agreement and checks) and gives scenario support before lodgement. Accreditation with 360 MMS covers residential and commercial lending; asset, car and personal finance can be referred to 360 Asset Finance under a referral agreement.

  • Accreditation needs a police check, a credit report, your Cert IV or Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking certificate, and evidence of MFAA or FBAA membership, AFCA membership and professional indemnity insurance.
  • Brokers who aren't accredited yet can introduce deals under an off-panel introducer agreement, with checks that include directors' credit checks.
  • The credit team is available for scenario discussions before you lodge, with BDMs and Partner Assist also there to help.
  • Accreditation covers residential and commercial lending. Asset, car and personal finance is referred under a referral agreement, and software finance referrals need no accreditation.

Why do brokers work with a mortgage manager?

A mortgage manager arranges and manages loans that a wholesale funder provides. For brokers, that can mean products designed for deals outside standard bank policy, such as self-employed and alt doc borrowers, SMSF, non-residents, companies and trusts, and complex structures, all within clear lending criteria and credit policy.

The other draw is access. With a mortgage manager, you can usually talk to the credit team that assesses the application before it goes to the funder for a decision, rather than a call centre.

What do I need to get accredited?

You apply through the online accreditation form, and the partnerships team reviews your application and confirms your accreditation. Have these ready:

  • a police check;
  • a credit report;
  • your Certificate IV or Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking certificate;
  • evidence of your MFAA or FBAA membership;
  • evidence of your AFCA membership;
  • your professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

The ASIC register is checked as part of the review. Accredited brokers also complete the broker compliance training.

Can I refer a deal if I'm not accredited yet?

Yes. Brokers who aren't accredited yet can introduce deals under an off-panel introducer agreement. The agreement sets out how the referral works, and checks apply before deals are accepted, including directors' credit checks.

Your obligations don't change. Whether you're accredited or introducing off-panel, your best interests duty to the client still applies.

Which aggregator panels is 360 MMS on?

Purple Circle Financial Services logoMortgage Australia Group logoViking Money logo

As at November 2026, 360 MMS is on the lender panels of Purple Circle (PCFS), Mortgage Australia Group (MAG) and Viking Money, and on the off-panel approved lists of other aggregators. We also work with brokers from any Australian credit licensee. Not with one of these groups? Call us on +61 3 7003 8919 or chat with us.

What scenario support is there before lodgement?

The credit team is available for scenario discussions before you lodge, so you can find out early whether a deal is likely to fit. Scenario support is useful for:

  • self-employed income that needs alt doc evidence;
  • company, trust and SMSF borrowers;
  • expats and non-residents;
  • past credit events;
  • commercial, bridging and business-purpose deals.

A scenario discussion is guidance, not an approval. Every application is assessed on its circumstances and lending criteria, and the funder makes the final decision.

What can I offer clients?

Accreditation covers residential and commercial lending. Other finance is by referral:

  • Residential lending: home and investment loans, refinancing, equity release, construction, SMSF refinance, and expat and non-resident lending.
  • Commercial lending: term loans, bridging, business-purpose lending and SMSF commercial, plus private and development loans through 360 Private.
  • Asset and equipment finance through 360 Asset Finance, by referral: vehicles, trucks, yellow goods, plant, medical equipment, IT hardware, marine and aviation, from a panel of specialist lenders.

Can I refer car, personal and asset finance without being accredited?

For car, personal and asset finance, 360 Asset Finance can do the application work and share the origination fee with you as the referring broker. You need a referral agreement with us, but you don't need to be accredited or switch aggregator. The referral fee can be paid to whoever refers, you or your licensee, as long as that party has an agreement with us. Referral fees and commissions are disclosed to the customer as required. Our guide for mortgage brokers adding asset finance explains how it works.

You can work with 360 Asset Finance by referring deals under a referral agreement or by joining the 360 team. Getting accredited and writing the loans yourself applies to our residential and commercial lending.

Software finance is different. Through 360 SaaSFin, you can refer software, cloud and AI project finance with no accreditation needed. Once the finance is approved and documents are complete, the supplier is paid upfront and the customer pays over an agreed term.

How are brokers paid?

Upfront and trail commissions are paid with transparent reporting, and asset finance referrals earn a share of the origination fee. The terms are set out in your accreditation, introducer or referral agreement. Commissions and referral fees are disclosed to the client as required under your credit obligations.

What are the pros and cons of working with a mortgage manager?

Possible pros:

  • Products designed for deals outside standard bank policy.
  • Access to the credit team for scenario discussions before you lodge.
  • BDM and Partner Assist support for deals in progress.
  • Another option to compare for clients as part of your best interests duty.

Possible cons:

  • Each mortgage manager has its own accreditation documents and compliance training.
  • Lending criteria and credit policy differ, so there's another set of policies to keep up with.
  • Loans for complex situations can cost clients more, so the comparison still matters.
  • A scenario discussion is guidance, not an approval: the funder makes the final decision.

How do I get accredited or refer a deal, step by step?

  1. Talk to our team or a BDM. Decide whether to get accredited or introduce a deal off-panel.
  2. Provide your documents. For accreditation, the online form and the documents listed above. For off-panel, the introducer agreement.
  3. The review. The partnerships team reviews your application and checks the ASIC register. Off-panel checks include directors' credit checks.
  4. Confirmation. Your accreditation is confirmed, or your introducer agreement is in place. Accredited brokers complete the broker compliance training.
  5. Your first deal. Talk the scenario through with the credit team before you lodge, then lodge and track it through the broker portal.
  6. Settlement. The loan settles, and commissions are paid on the terms of your agreement.
